Q: What is “Hire Jet Crew”?
A: A time saving app to exchange contact information between Clients and qualified Flight Crew Members.
Q: Where did the name come from?
A: Pilots often ask how they can get included on trips and the best quote came from Captain Long. “You have to be RATED and AVAILABLE. If you are not both, you cannot even be considered.”
Q: Why was this service started?
A: After spending over an hour/day texting and forwarding trip information about trips for people that knew each other. Born from the impact of time spent we needed to find a better way and let a computer help coordinate these trips. SMS/Text messaging is the fastest way to get to a crew member.
Q: What is “Pay for Results”?
A: Pay for Results means you are only charged a LOOP credit if your contact information was exchanged and is NOT a subscription based service. See below for pricing details.
Q: What is a LOOP?
A: LOOP is our term for a connection and exchange of contract information between a Client and a Pilot, Mechanic or Crew Member.
Q: How does the pricing work for a R&A Client and when does a Client get charged for a trip?
A: An initial registration fee of $100 is charged for setting up your account. Included with registration is two (2) LOOP credits. After at least one R&A Crew Member replies that are Available for the trip your account will be deducted 1 LOOP. If there are no Hire Jet Crew Crew Members, there is no charge for the Crew Request. Additional LOOP credits can be purchased for $50 each.
Q: How does the pricing work for a R&A Crew Member and when does a Crew Member get charged for a trip?
A: An initial registration fee of $50 is charged for setting up your account and verifying your ratings. Included with registration is three (3) LOOP credits. A loop credit is charged upon replying that you are Rated & Available for a trip. Two (2) additional LOOP credits can be purchased for $30.
Q: What is a “Turbo” Crew Membership?
A: A Turbo membership provides priority notifications for trips. Turbo members have the first chance to state availably for a trip by receiving the details one (1) hour before a standard crew member.
Q: I received an error message when I replied to a trip. How should I reply to a trip notification?
A: Always start with the trip number you are replying to then any other information you wish to pass on to the Client. For example, to reply to trip #10 enter the following.
“10 yes I can do the trip for $250 and I have 85 hours in type” -or-
“10 I am available and look forward to hearing from you”
Q: Can I have a custom list of crew members that get notified instead of it going to everyone?
A: Yes. R&A can generate a custom contact list for each different aircraft you have for a small set up fee. Email support@ratedandavailable.com for details.
Q: I just got a job and no longer want notification. How do I pause trip notifications?
A: If your LOOP credits = 0 you will not trip receive notifications. If you have LOOP credits you want to save for later, send us an email at support@ratedandavailable.com to put your account on hold. LOOP credits do not expire.
Q: I originally signed up as a Client and now want to change to a Crew. How do I do that?
A: After you are logged in, go to the home screen by pressing the R&A logo in the top left. Click on the button to “Join as Crew”.
Q: What if a Client is provided a R&A Crew Member but for whatever reason they cannot do the trip?
A: email admin@ratedandavailable.com with the trip ID and explanation for a trip credit refund.
Q: If a R&A Crew Member confirms interest in a trip, is there a way to see additional information about them?
A: Yes, through the website you can see additional information about those Crew Members. My Hanger displays a list of your trips. On the right-hand side is an icon for “Replies”. Click on Replies to view all the received messages. Click on a Crew Member name for additional information about them.
Q: Is there a way to limit who the trip goes out to? Geographic limits or only previous crews?

How it works for the Client:
1. Register and accept Terms & Conditions
2. Enter the details on your trip and the crew member you need.
3. Upon posting your request, you will receive immediate feedback of how many qualified crew members were notified.
4. As up to four (4) Hire Jet Crew crew members declare availability, your contact information is exchanged.
5. Only the Crew(s) that confirmed availability are provided your contact information.
6. You will only be charged a LOOP credit if at least 1 crew member replies available.
7. Coordinate your trip directly with the crew member through the provided contact information.
8. The Client can mark the trip as “Landed” after a solution is identified. This will prevent being contacted by other crew members.
9. Send feedback on the crew member after the trip.
10. Post your next crew needs and trip details.
How it works for the Crew:
1. Register, accept Terms & Conditions and select the aircraft you want to be notified about.
2. Your ratings will be verified against the FAA database
3. Receive SMS notifications as trips matching your rated aircraft and ratings are posted.
4. Reply if you are available and interested and your contact information and notes are sent via SMS to the Client.
5. You are provided the Client contact information and a LOOP credit is charged.
6. Coordinate the trip and agreement details directly with the Client.
7. Perform the job with excellence.
8. Receive a rating.
9. Repeat.
Membership options for Crew Members:
-“Turbo”- Receive notifications for new trips 1 hour before standard members. This provides the ability to reply quicker, before the trip is filled.
Custom options for Clients:
-“Preferred Crew List”- Generate a custom list that your trip is distributed to instead of all Rated crew members. There is a one-time setup fee per aircraft. Crew members must be active R&A Crew Members and all other rates apply.
Professional behavior is required in all dealings on this application and with other members. Innappropriate comments will be removed, and serious violations can revoke your membership.
